When my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and dementia, I didn't know what to do. I was so scared for her, and for myself. But then First Assist Nursing came along, and everything changed. The caregivers they sent were so understanding and compassionate—they really listened to my concerns, took their time getting to know my mother, and made sure that she was comfortable with them before they started working together. They helped my mom get out of bed every day and go through her normal morning routine—something that had become impossible on her own. They also helped her eat breakfast and lunch each day, which is something she'd been missing lately because she wasn't always able to remember when it was time or where it was coming from. Even though they weren't technically nurses, they were able to perform basic medical procedures like taking her vitals and checking her medications—and the best part? They were doing it all in our home! It made me so much more comfortable knowing that my mother was being taken care of in familiar surroundings instead of being stuck alone at a hospital bed somewhere else. First Assist Nursing was there for us every step of the way. They made sure my mother was comfortable, and they treated her like family. I can't say enough good things about First Assist Nursing. They were so helpful in helping me take care of my mother after she suffered a stroke. She needed someone to be with her 24/7, and I couldn't afford to hire a private duty nurse. That's when I found First Assist, and they were able to provide me with the kind of care that allowed me to keep my job while still being with my mom as much as I needed to be. I had the pleasure of working with First Assist Nursing when my mother had a stroke. It was a difficult time, but they made it so much easier by helping with everything from meal preparation to bathing to dressing my mom. I had always heard that home care services are expensive, but First Assist was actually quite affordable! And I know that's because they truly care about the people they serve. They're passionate about their work, willing to go above and beyond for their clients, and do everything they can to help families transition into new homes after an illness or injury. The caregivers were also extremely understanding when it came to my mom's needs—she has dementia now, but she still loves being treated like royalty every day! They made sure that I knew exactly what was going on with her health at all times so that I never felt worried or left in the dark. I first heard about First Assist Nursing and Home Care Assistance when my sister-in-law told me about it, and I was skeptical at first. I mean, how could someone who came to your house and helped you with meal preparation and eating supervision be affordable? But then I spoke with First Assist Nursing and Home Care Assistance on the phone, and they explained their services more fully. Their service was transformative for my family—they showed up on time and were willing to work around our schedule, they were friendly and personable, they were understanding of our situation… Basically, they made us feel like we weren't being a burden on them or taking up too much of their time. They went above and beyond for us, which really meant a lot. I was so lucky to have First Assist Nursing help me with my grandmother. She was still relatively young, but she had dementia and needed some help at home. She couldn't live alone anymore, but she didn't want to go into a nursing home until the very end. I had no idea what to do, but First Assist Nursing was able to come into her home and provide her with everything that she needed: companionship, assistance with meals and bathing, and even more specialized care when necessary (like physical therapy). They were always on time, friendly, and affordable. They made sure that my grandmother was comfortable with them before starting their services, which I really appreciated. It was also great how they were willing to work with me on scheduling because I travel a lot for work! I’m so grateful for the care that First Assist provided my mother. When she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, it was a very difficult time for our family. We didn't know what to do, but we knew that we couldn't afford to keep her in a nursing home indefinitely. When we found out about First Assist, they were able to come into our home and provide the care she needed while still allowing us to feel like she was at home with us. They were always on time, and they were very friendly and understanding of our situation. They also helped us find other resources in our community that could help us through this process like respite care programs, which allowed us to take breaks from caring for her so that we could take care of ourselves as well. We have been using First Assist Nursing for over two years now, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Their services are timely, friendly, affordable, and they provide a high level of satisfaction that is transformative to the lives of their clients. My father-in-law suffered a stroke earlier this year and had to move in with us temporarily while he recovered. He was having difficulty remembering how to do basic things like eating, dressing himself, and getting around the house on his own. We didn't know what to do or where to turn until we found First Assist Nursing. They sent an amazing nurse named Lauren who has been working with my father-in-law for over three months now. She showed up every day at 8:00 AM sharp, ready to help him get dressed and eat breakfast so he wouldn't feel embarrassed about needing assistance or ashamed about forgetting things. She always brought along fresh fruit or vegetables from her garden so he could eat something healthy along with his eggs—something I never would have thought about doing on my own! She also helped him take his medications each morning before she left so he wouldn't have any trouble remembering later on when she wasn't there anymore either (which isn't something I would have thought about doing either). The staff is always so friendly, timely and professional. I feel safe knowing that I can call on you at any time of day or night to help me with whatever I need help with.
